Smores, school and 5k

We have done smores in the backyard a few times.

The kids love it.

Aaron has really been into his blocks lately, which I am grateful for.  He will play for hours and I can help the other kids or get something else done.  :)

We are still working hard with all of the school work.

Leah and I made slime.  The slime glows in the dark.  Leah has been loving it.

We did a family 5k run.  It was fun to run with everyone!

Everyone finished strong and did a great job!

Emily has been running regularly.  I ran the 5k with her because she has out paced her Mom (who just had a baby 8 weeks ago).

My Mom got a new Cricut for her Birthday. We made shirts for our 5k Cowboys draft day!

Easter and General Conference

We are still homeschooling.  We have somewhat more of a routine.  We still have the power struggle.

Leah and I ran 2 miles together.  She is doing great!

We had a wonderful weekend listening to our Prophet and apostles.  The kids like to get really cozy.  ha ha

I had Aaron sorting eggs.  He was having a good time doing that.

Leah had to do a diorama of one of the ecosystems.  She picked the rain forest.  I thought it turned out great!

We had a wonderful Easter.  Michael gave a talk to the Ward along with another sister.  It was nice to "gather" online anyway.

The kids had fun looking for eggs and enjoying their candy.

We love Easter!

We know that Christ lives!

We made everyone take a quick pic outside.  This is the best we could do.  lol

Our garden is growing really well.  We have had to pick things from the garden every night for dinner.  The kids love to use the salad spinner after I wash the lettuce.

The kids have to use technology for school.  I am grateful for all the teachers who had to change up everything to help everyone learn.  One more month!

We are required to wear masks now if we go into buildings.  We cut up leggings to use for the kids.

They hated it, and they don't go anywhere anyway, but just in case we thought we would be prepared.

Leah loves musicals.  The last few weeks we have introduced a new musical to her.  This week on Youtube they broadcast the Phantom of the Opera.  Even the other kids were interested.

Birthdays

My Mom had a Birthday.  We had her favorite dinner and cookies.  We sure do love having her here!

Michael had a Birthday as well!  I didn't get pictures of his cheesecake or favorite dinner.  I guess I was living in the moment.  We are so glad he was born.  We have enjoyed our extra time with him.  He still has to go into work but he doesn't have to go out for Church as much.  :)

Still at home

The Coronavirus is still going strong here, so we are still at home.  We can leave for the store or for outdoor exercise with people we live with as long as we stay 6ft away.  Michael is an essential worker so he is still going in to work.  I get to stay home and help kids with school work and get my work done as well.  It is super busy trying to home school 5 kids.  Evenings and weekends are nice to not have to go anywhere but day time is busy!  We are grateful to be healthy and still getting a paycheck when so many others are not.  We are fasting again this week to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.

Meanwhile our weekend looked like this.  Camping in the backyard.

The kids loved it.  They watched movies and ate popcorn.  Storm came in the morning after everyone was inside the house so it worked out great.

Leah has been practicing doing hair on me.  She has really been working on her french braiding lately, although she didn't take a picture of that.

Michael took out his legos castles. He is having the boys put them together.  They already have a few put together already.  This was no easy task as they were all mixed in together and directions are looking a little rough.

Staying at home

We had St Patrick's Day at home.  The kids are home for the foreseeable future.  I have had them do assignments including PE. It has kept me so busy schooling five kids at home. It is fun and crazy time.

Dallin, Joshua, and Araon made us some delicious brownies for us to enjoy.

They were some tough times this week, but some sweet moments as well.   I love these kids of mine.

The kids have been a little stir crazy with all the rain we have been having. We will get this new way of life figured out and it will change again.  lol

Leah had to make a landslide, volcano, or earthquake for a science project.  We decided to do a landslide out of cake.  It was fun!

We are grateful for our health and pray for the world everyday that we can get through this difficult Cornoavirus time together.

Sea Quest

We headed out one more time when it looked like we would have to hunker down for ahwile during this virus.

We got to pet these guys.

We had fun with the sharks.

It was nice to get out as it had been raining quite a bit.

We had a great time!

I ran 14 miles last Saturday.  It was fun and I am proud of how far I have come.  My race was postponed but I may just try and run it at race pace anyway.

Other February happenings

We went to Evan's music program.
It was so cute.  He did a great job!

We made a Valentine's box.  We had fun with it.

We had a little Valentine's day party with the little ones.

They had a great time.

Michael and I went on tennis date for Valentine's day. We had a great time!

Now that we are caught up.  We are excited for March.  We start Spring break!

I got a tulip to bloom.  I have a hard time getting plants to bloom and live.  We will enjoy it while it lasts.

I have been running early in the mornings.  I have a race coming up in April I am prepping for.

I love the quiet and to be alone with my thoughts on a long easy run.  The scenery isn't too bad either.
