Unoffical Start of Summer

We had the Cruz and Clark Family over on Memorial Day and played Settlers and ate.  We had a great time!
Tony ends up winning the game.  :)

Despite the rain Michael was determined to grill.

The kids took advantage and played in the rain too!

The kids are devouring watermelon during the week on a rare time when it wasn't raining.

My kids are getting a bit antsy by having to play indoors so much.  Luckily the rain ended yesterday!

My kids all got sunglasses and think they are cool.  :)

Before Church today they were enjoying a little sunshine which has been rare for the month of May.

More Rain and a little fun at the Arboretum

It rained a little in the morning so we almost stayed home.  I am so glad we didn't.  It turned out to be a beautiful and fun day.

The Arboretum here set up flower houses and has Texas inspired fun for the kids.

The kids had a blast with the hay bales.

We had a great time with our friends.

After lunch we relaxed and the kids played in the creek.

They loved wading in the creek.

After the Arboretum I had to pick Dallin up from school and both kids were sleeping soundly.

Have I mentioned that it has rained here?  It has rained just about everyday.  The kids got into a huge puddle and were covered.

Luckily I headed out to PTA meeting, so Michael got to take care of the mess this time.  I end up changing Evan several times a day.  If there is a puddle he will jump in it.

Projects and indoor play

Joshua had a project on the praying mantis.  He needed to make a model and write up a report.  He ended up turning in the lego praying mantis, but the others ones were fun to make.

Joshua also had a report on a famous person.  He decided on Ronald Reagan.  Joshua still wants to be President.  He says JFK is still his favorite.  He has to give an oral report while holding up the poster board.  I think he looks dashing.  :)

Michael was having fun in Philadelphia all week, and it rained in Texas.  We played indoors all week.  Leah and Evan were playing picnic.

We had a movie popcorn night.

Dad brought home a new chess board so when he got back on Saturday the boys played all day.

Leah and Evan also just got over fifth disease.  Leah sported the rosiest cheeks for about a week.  Evan's rash wasn't too bad.  The actual sickness was hardly noticed by either child.

Mother's Day Weekend

It was teacher appreciation week so I made caramel pop corn for all the teachers.  It was yummy!  I am on the executive PTA board now, so I get to do more things like this.

Evan was so cute yesterday playing cars for hours.  He was so content until his brothers persuaded him to go outside.

The pool had filled with rain water, and Evan decided to go all in.
The bigger boys at first just played in it with their feet and then by the end they were all soaking wet.  They had a great time!

My Mother's Day has been nice!  Joshua made me the plate and wrote a book.  Dallin made me some coupons and answered cute questions about me.  Michael got me the can opener and some M&Ms.  I also got my new running shoes.  Michael knew he would be busy Sunday so he made me dinner on Saturday and made sure dinner would be easy for Sunday.  He is so sweet!
I am so grateful for my Mother.  She is so strong and amazing!  She is the best example for me!  I wish we could see each other more!  My sister's and sister in law are wonderful Mothers as well!  I learn so much from the mas well!  I just wish we could hang out more!

My Mother in law is amazing and she raised my amazing husband.  I learn so much for her!  My sister in laws are amazing as well!  It is great to be surrounded by so many strong women!

Lake Day!

After soccer games and nap time we headed out to the lake.  It is early for most Texans/people to swim but it has been warm.  It isn't too crowded at the lake yet.  :)
Joshua doesn't hesitate to jump in.  He loves to swim.

Dallin wasn't bothered by the cold either.

We played on our rafts.  Rylan wasn't sure he wanted to stay in the raft, but we all had fun.

Leah likes the rafts and all of the floatie devices.

The boys loved to pretend to oar.

It was so perfect to hang out on the raft and feel the hot sun and yet the cool water.
We had a great time and hope to do it again soon!
