Birthday Fun

Another joy of turning 8 in our house.  The boys made sure we didn't forget that she now gets to start mowing. The two older boys and Leah each have patches they are responsible for.

Michael hasn't had his Birthday yet, but we have started to celebrate anyway.  He got a new fish tank.  The kids and Michael are so excited.

Michael's new favorite spot is just sitting in the rocking chair staring at the tank.

We did Speedy kids again on Saturday.  Aaron hangs at the park while the rest run.

The kids did great.  This week they worked on the 800 meter run and long jump.

Evan is smaller than the rest of the kids that run with him.  Most of the other kids are 7, so on the shorter distances he can't keep up.  The 800 meter he had no issues taking over.  ha ha

I threw a surprise party for Michael yesterday.

As I have been told I tend to worry about the wrong things that end up talking me out of doing most parties.  ha ha It was a little stressful but with the help of family and friends we got it to work.

I baked and purchased food on Friday.  I hid it away at my sister's house.

I took him to the movies in the afternoon and my family came over to set up for the party.

He was pretty surprised.  ha ha  It is fun I can still shock him after 14 years of marriage.  lol

I am grateful for everyone who came and made him feel so loved.

Aaron blew out the candles for him.

He even got to open a few presents.  We had fished themed party.  It doesn't matter if you are turning 6 or 36 it is fun to have a little theme.  :)

I wanted to have it in the backyard but it rained lightly off and on. It doesn't bother the kids.  They enjoyed playing outside.

Michael and I ran a 5k in the morning.

My race pics never look this good.  I loved the guys in back sprinting in behind him.  He had no idea that they were coming up. He did end up kicking it up in the end to finish before them.

I didn't break any records, but I am slowly getting faster after my sickness and pleurisy.  It was fun to run with Michael.  He stayed with me the first mile and half and then dropped off.  It was a busy, fun, and crazy weekend.
