First Day of School...

I am still waiting for my camera to arrive from Salina KS to post about our fantastic trip to South Dakota.  We had a wonderful time, so stay tuned.  ;)

Evan didn't care much one way or another that it was the first day of school.

He is getting so good at sitting now.  I thought Evan was just extremely loud at Church, but it turns out he loud here too.  I just didn't notice it so much becuase everyone is loud.  He is quite the talker.

After the boys left this morning we went for a little run.  Leah likes to go running with me.  She was very sad at being left behind, but I think she will see soon enough that there are perks to being home.  :)  She is dancing all over the whole living room without running into anyone else.

My big boys all ready for school.  They were very excited.  Dallin already thinks he knows everything.  Joshua's best friend from his class last year is in his class this year, so he is excited.

Dallin has the same teacher Joshua had for Kindergarten.  I really liked her so I'm excited to see how his year goes.  I told Miss B last year I wanted Dallin in her class, so she made it happen.  Yeah!  Love Miss B!

Joshua's teacher seems nice.  There is a big difference going from Kindergarten to first grade.  First graders each have their own desk, and they do not have a bathroom in their classroom like in K.  He is excited to see his friends every day.

Michael dropped them off this morning, and said all went well.  I can't wait to pick them up and see how it went.

Relay and Spray Park Fun

As you can tell Leah worked really hard on her 1K race.  ;)

The boys ran really fast and was under 4 minutes in the 1K.  They don't time it, but I just looked at my watch and it was around 4 min.

Lots of kids at the 1K race.

I have an awesome husband who supports my running.  He even took the third spot on the relay team.  It is so hot to run in August, and there is a really steep hill on this course.  We surivived and had a good time.  Tony also ran, and Jenny got to watch the kids in the shade.

This is my first year running with boys.  Usually I have an all girls team.  I was a little nervous this time around because I have been battling tendonitis, but it has been getting better.

As usual in the summer we hit the spray park.  I took Evan in this time.  He didn't seem to mind it at all.

We also took Rylan.  He slept through the whole experience.  :)

Leah likes to get under the bubble and sing really loud.  I thought it was funny.

We are having a great summer.  It is back up to triple digits with heat index around 107, so summer hit us full force.  Cooking is now a chore.  :)

More Swimming

We have been enjoying the weather this summer!  It has been the coolest Texas summer so far.  It is still hot enough to swim.  We have been swimming quite a bit!  Dallin and Joshua have been practicing what they learned in swim lessons.

My kids would spend all day in the pool if I would let them.  Leah is a little nervous in the water, but that is okay with me.  I like them being a little cautious.  :)  She keeps her head well above water.

Jenny came for a visit.  We had to compare Rylan and Evan.  Rylan is like 2 weeks here, and Evan is almost 5 months.  It is crazy how much they grow in such a short time.

Happy 5th Birthday Dallin!

Dallin had three celebrations for his Birthday.  He did pretty good this year.  Grandma Rasmussen was here for the first celebration.  After she left we went to San Antonio and celebrated at Sea World with the Clark family.  After we got home we celebrated his actual Birthday.

Dallin really wanted a watch for his Birthday. He is loving it!

Grandma made these amazing capes for the kids.  They also got goggles from Grandma.

We had pizza and fun at Sea World.  Pizza is his favorite food.

Dallin is one incredible kid.  He is so sweet and kind.  He wanted power rangers for his Birthday.  Tony and Jenny gave him a blue one.  He got money from Grandma and Grandpa West and he purchased the red one.  He really wanted the pink one for Leah so they all could play so we got him one of those.  He is so shy as well.  I worry a little bit about his shyness next month at school.  He knows his letters and the sounds.  He can count.  He is starting to learn a few sight words.  He is 43.5 inches tall, which is 3 inches taller then he was last year.  He also gained 9lbs since last year.  He weighs in at 46lbs.  He loves to run and to swim.  He is also becoming more and more cautious.  It must be the extra 3 inches that are throwing him off.  ;)

We love you Dallin!  You are an amazing little boy!

A visit with the Clark Family in San Antonio

We had a great time in San Antonio.  Jessica and Dustin let us stay at there house and eat all of there food.  Thomas let us take over his room.  We had good food and wonderful time.  They gave us a tour of San Antonio.   The pictures don't do justice to the fun we actually had.  I guess we had so much fun we forgot to take pictures.  :)

On Saturday we went to one of the oldest working cathedrals in America.

We also stopped by the Alamo.

Evan slept the whole trip to downtown San Antonio,

The kids reflecting at the Alamo.

I loved the river walk.  It was so pretty.

Dustin works at Sea World.  They let us use their tickets to go in.  We loved it!!  I loved watching the smiles on my kids' faces.

We saw a couple of shows.  My boys loved the Shamu show the best.  We sat in the splash zone, but didn't get splashed.  We were the only people not soaked.  :)

The kids loved the rides.  Dallin didn't enjoy the roller coaster but loved the Rio Grand ride.  Joshua loved all of the rides.  It was so nice for Jessica and Dustin to watch some of my little ones so we could go on the bigger rides.

The kids loved the sharks!

They enjoyed watching the dolphins as well.

Thank you Jessica and Dustin!  We had fun and loved our visit!

First week of July Fun!

My kids got a brand new cousin.  Isn't he adorable!  We are so glad he is at home with Jenny and Tony.  They are going to be wonderful parents!  We also have Grandma here visiting us!  We are loving it!

Grandma came with us to the race on Saturday.  Evan borrowed Leah's hat.  The kids had a good time running and I survived a 10K in July in Texas.  :)

We saw fireworks at a near by park.  This was Leah and Evan's first year watching them.  Joshua enjoyed them this year as well.  Previous years he didn't enjoy the noise.

Grandma got us shirts for the 4th of July.  Leah decided to not dress up in her shirt.  We have been having fun with Grandma here.  She has played Checkers and Life many times.  :)  We have done the bean bag toss as well.  We love spending time with family!

Evan looks pretty cute in his onesie.  He is looking up at Dad and grinning.  He also rolled over both directions on the 4th of July.  He's growing up fast.

Evan 4 Months

Evan is now four months old.  He is 15.7 lbs, and 26.5 inches tall.  He is getting big.  He is an ideal baby.  He goes with the flow.  He loves to coo and laugh.  We took him swimming for the first time.  He did great.  He doesn't have a great nap schedule yet, he likes to take little cat naps.  It seems to work for now, since we are on the go quite a bit.  He does great at night.  We love him, and are excited to watch him grow and learn.
