Safety Fair

Michael helped with the North East Dallas safety fair. He was helping out with the bike rodeo. They gave out 500 bike helmets and had to ride a bike on a course. The kids an I played at the fair. Joshua and Dallin had a great time and both got helmets. I forgot my camera so had to use my phone for pictures.
The boys loved the SWAT team vehicle. They got to climb in the aromored truck and play with gun replicas. I am not a fan of guns, but my boys sure seem to be. They loved it. Joshua proclaimed that he wanted one for his Birthday.

They had police cars and motorcyles to look at and sit in. The helicopter came down and the kids got to climb in and look at that as well. The garbage truck did demonstrations for the kids. They also showed off the command center and had bounce houses for the kids to jump in.

Joshua now wants to be a fireman when he grows up. He enjoyed sitting in the fire truck and honking the horn. There were rescue dogs and horses for the boys to pet. Dallin was not a fan of the horses, but the dogs were ok. The boys were in heaven all morning on Saturday. They served up hotdogs for everyone for lunch and a popsicle for dessert.

Camp Out

The boys went to the Ward camp out while Leah and I stayed home. I was worried about taking Leah with the bugs and smoke. It worked out because I was able to stay home and mow the lawn, run, and make a meal for someone in our Ward.
The boys had a great time. They love the sand and digging in the dirt. They went on a 1.7 mile hike. Dallin was so tired by the time they got home I stuck him straight in the bath and in bed. He screamed the entire time until I put him in bed. Once in bed he was out and when he woke up he told me he felt better.
Michael put together the Ward Camp out. He had 66 people show up. It sounded like everyone enjoyed themselves. Next year I will make it out. I miss camping with the family. :)

Worth it!

The morning started early for us, as we wanted to get to Irving around 7 AM. The boys had their race at 7:45 AM. Joshua did a great job, lined and ran. He is very proud of his medal! Dallin started running with the first heat, which he was not in, and I called him back. Everyone thought it was cute and laughed. Dallin was embarrassed so he refused to run. Michael had to come and help him, so he would get a medal. The boys did more practicing after the race.
We are missing my friend Elise but here are the girls that I raced with Jenny, Breanna, and Kristine. I came in after all of them, and we were all in different age groups. They did an awesome job, and it was fun running with my sister and friends.
We made team shirts for our race. We were team lazy. We had a fun time making them and the boys loved the uniform. Michael and Leah have one as well.
There was another race going on today so there was not a huge crowd at this one. I was able to finish 3rd in my age group and Jenny finished first in hers! It was fun to get a little recognition. It has been a while since I have received a trophy/plaque. :)

We had a great time and I would do it again. I would train better next time, as it was hard for me to find time to run with a newborn.

Easter

My poor baby has pink eye. I don't know what it is with my kids but they seem to get it at least once a year. Right now it is Leah's turn and it breaks my heart to see her suffer. She is all congested and exhausted. Due to Leah having pink eye we didn't even make it to Church on Easter Sunday. Joshua had a fever Saturday night as well, but he seems fine now. We were all up early due to lack of sleep so I dressed the kids up for a few pictures to remind us it is Sunday and Easter. The kids looked pretty cute.

We did do an Easter Egg hunt and the kids got some yummy candy. We had a ham dinner. The boys got a mitts and balls from the Grandparents. They enjoyed playing catch all day. The boys also got squirt guns that they have enjoyed playing with.
We dyed Easter eggs. They were dinosaur eggs. The boys enjoyed dying the eggs.
Aunt Jenny came over to help and came over for Easter dinner. We had a wonderful Easter.

Handy Man?

Michael tells me he is not a handy man, but I think differently. He has done many projects around the house to not consider himself a handy man. He did not do them by himself, but he found people who knew what they were doing and learned from them. He seeks advice and does a great job around the house. Our latest project here is taking off the rotted wood on the bottom of our garage and repainting it. We are still working on it, but Michael did a good job. We borrowed some of the tools and had some friends help paint. We are blessed with great friends!

If you remember the gas line leak, Michael made sure that we got it fixed.
Michael helped install a second fan in the living room.
He also helped remodel the bathroom.

We are so grateful for the people who have helped us and taught us how to do these home repairs. We are so blessed!

A little of this and that

A good friend of mine made this beautiful dress, and Leah looked adorable in it. The boys just love to be in the pictures, and they are adorable too. This week I had a scare at Walmart. There was a car speeding down the parking lot isle and Dallin decided to take off towards the Walmart doors. He was so close to being hit. If Joshua, Dallin, or I would have taken a step we would have been hit. It makes me wonder how any of us survived to be adults. :)
Dallin finally decided that we could go and purchase underwear for him. He picked out Thomas underwear. He was originally refusing to wear underwear or use the potty, so this was real progress for us. He has yet to use the potty, but once he went to the bathroom without telling me and went on the floor. Sometimes he will go outside and go, but with pants on still. He won't pull down pants or underwear to go but at least he hasn't wet on the carpet. If you are wondering about the leash, the boys like to wear the leashes and pretend they are horses and I drive them around the house.
This is what I call a guilt free nap. Michael is really busy with church and work so he feels bad if he doesn't help out at home. This is his way of helping out while being able to relax a little. :) He will ask me if the baby needs a nap, and when she does he volunteers to help with that. :) I am fine if he just takes a nap, but he for some reason always feels a little guilty.

Blessing

Leah is growing up and getting to be very expressive. I just wanted to show a cute picture of her in a cute summer dress. I think it is weird that it is 90 degrees here and still snowing up North.
We had Leah blessed yesterday. We have Church at 9AM so I didn't get very many pictures as we were in a rush to get to Church. Leah did not cry at all during her blessing. We had my sister, her roommate, and Uncle David's family come to Church for the blessing. We are so happy they all came. We had a great lunch afterwards. Michael cooked us up some pizza that was mighty tasty.
Here are my three kiddos the day they were blessed. Dallin's picture is a little blurry and Leah is flipping us off, but you get what you get. I just wanted to show how alike they all look. You can tell that they are all related and super cute!
The dress that Leah is wearing is the dress I wore when I was blessed. It was so special. We had a wonderful day yesterday, we love having family around!
