Frisco Festival

We went to fire safety town to go trick or treating on Friday.  We went with the Buie and Clark families.  It was a long line, but the kids enjoyed themselves.  Evan wanted to be a fire fighter.  He refused his power ranger costume.

The other ones loved their power ranger costume.  Each time they passed another ranger in line they would pull down their mask.

The kids got tattoos and colored and loaded up on candy.  We all had a good time.

Turner Falls Camp

We had a great team meeting up with friends and camping in Oklahoma.  We loved the park.  We loved the food, and we love the our friends!  The minute we got home the kids asked when we were going to camp with everyone again.

We hiked to a little cave.  We had to get down to crawl in.

Inside the cave we could stand up.

We had lots of fun climbing on rocks.

The Falls were pretty.  We hiked up the a castle as well.  I didn't get any pictures, but the kids enjoyed the all the stairs and secret passages in the castle.  The kids loved exploring.

We even went swimming.  It was soo cold!  Michael and I both had to swim to the water fall and check it out.  He later slipped off that rock.  Ron, our friend was really adventrous around the water fall.

Fall Fun!

We headed out to the Aboretum pumpkin patch.  It is so fun!  We went after it had stormed so we had the place to ourselves for a bit.

Dallin isn't a fan of getting his picture taken, but when he takes them he looks good.  :)

Leah is becoming so pretty.  My kids love to fold their arms for pictures.  I have no idea where that came from.

I love all of the different kinds of squash they have.

After the Arboretum we watched Curious George Boo Fest movie.  My kids loved it.

We went back to the Arboretum with the Clarks!  It is so fun to see the little ones interact and play.  We had a great week!

Showing off and eating pumpkins is what my kids do.

After it stormed at night I ran a half marathon on Saturday.  It was fun!  My friend came down from Oklahoma to run it with me.  We all did great!  Jenny and Elise got their best times!

Busy weeks

Michael has more wood projects he is working on.  Leah went to help him at Home Depot. She loves hanging with her Dad.

We had Grandma and Granpa West come for the weekend.  I didn't take too many pictures.  We were having too much fun I guess.  We were grateful that they came for a visit and were able to here for Michael.

The kids had a great time and they love Grandma's Kindle.

Dallin finished his first chapter book.  He did great!

On Thursday evening we had a wicked storm blow through.  The storm was fast but with 90 mph winds it left damage.  We lost power for 33 hours.  The kids enjoyed running around with flash lights and eating pizza for dinner.  We had perfect weather after the storm so it wasn't too bad without power.  I was just worried about my food.  We saved it with ice and not opening up the fridge and freezer.   We didn't have damage in our yard, but the neighborhood has some trees down and powerlines.

Individual Update

Evan is growing up so fast.  I love his blond hair. He is my cuddle bug.  He is starting to use words a little more.  He LOVES sports.  He will play soccer all of the time.  He also enjoys t-ball.  He imitates the kids play and always wants to be included. He loves to play outside.  Food is his best friend.  Evan doesn't like strangers and isn't really friendly.  He still cries with babysitters but settles in pretty quickly.  I think he is growing up too fast.

Leah has fallen in love with dresses.  She wears one just about every day.  She loves pink and purses.  She has no problem keeping up with her brothers either.  She wants to be a pink power ranger for Halloween which is hard to find in the stores so far.  She loves to sing the alphabet and pretend to read.  She likes to try and get out of chores by asking for help.  She will also try to go slow so that everyone else will do more clean up then her.  Sneaky girl!  She isn't really interested in school stuff yet, but she does have plenty of time for it.  She is so fun and helps take care of her brothers.

Joshua is loving his new school.  He loves the hands on science experiments. He enjoys reading, but sometimes goes to fast and doesn't always comprehend everything.  Joshua wants to be a power ranger for Halloween as well.  He likes to ride the bus.  He has terrible hand writing, so it is a good thing that he is getting faster at typing.  He loves to play with Dallin and jump on the trampoline.  He has been playing baseball quite a bit lately.

Michael just got a new job!  We are very proud of him.  He will be traveling a little more, but he will get to see his sister more frequently.  He has been busy making beds, and a toy chest.  He also made a basketball stand for the kids.  He is pretty amazing!

Dallin is liking first grade quite a bit.  He is doing wonderful with his reading.  We are working on his first chapter book.  He loves to argue with the books he reads.  For example we were reading a Thomas book and Thomas stopped to let ducks cross the tracks.  Dallin was like "Thomas would have never seen those in time."  He always analyzing everything he reads.  He has gotten a couple of sweet notes home from his teacher.  He is so good at school and when he ges home he can unleash his bottled up frustrations on us.  I am usually the one who he takes it out on.  It can be hard some days, and other days he as sweet as can be.  He always looks out for others.

I am pretty blessed to have such an amazing family!  I love them so much!

Grandparents day and beard no more

The beard as we know it was shaved today.  Evan wouldn't go near Michael at first.  Leah remarked how she likes beards and he should get it back.  At Church today Michael heard everything from you look so young to you looked younger with a beard.  At least I think he's cute either way.  :)

This week was busy with meetings and work, so not much to report.

Joshua's school had Grandparents day on Friday.  Since his Grandparents live far away I went.  I really really like his new school.  They are so hands on and hardly any homework.  They also have recess every day!  yeah!  Leah enjoyed some ipad time while we were there too.  Joshua had to make a stick figure to represent his heritage.  I forgot to get a picture so I'll have to do that when he gets it back, but I think it turned out ok.

Labor Day Weekend Fun!

We headed to the zoo.  The kids had a great time.

My kids love this jeep.

You can't leave the zoo without playing in the water.  It is so hot here in Texas right now.
We went to the parade.  It got a little long, there were a lot of high schools bands and cheerleaders.  We had fun and the kids got their candy.

We hit up the booths.  The kids made a little Home Depot project.

The kids got their face painted.

Labor Day was fun.  I love spending the day with my family and friends!
