What do you do in the summer time

Swim!  We have been swimming all summer.
The kids just finished their first session of swim lessons.  Joshua is working on his breast stroke, and Dallin is working on his back stroke.  Leah is working on her back glide with a kick.  Evan is working on his floating.

We went to a friends house to swim.

The boys had a great time reconnecting with an old friend.

The heat has been brutal so the pool is a must.

The boys have cool moves in the pool!

A little Excitement and Father's Day

We play outside everyday.  Aaron is super active so it is hard to keep him out of trouble.

Leah lost her first tooth.  She was so excited! She had been working on the tooth for months.  ha ha

We enjoyed our gazebo and ate dinner outside.  It is so nice to have some shade in the backyard.

We started swim lessons this week.  Evan is loving it!  The boys and Leah are doing great too.  The hardest part is keeping Aaron entertained for the two hours.  ha ha

My sister had a baby shower, so we made this cake for it. I thought it turned out great, and was yummy too!
We had a little excitement on Thursday.  It is actually quite embarrassing for me, but I am thankful for the firefighters and that all was well.  I was preheating the oven and noticed black smoke coming from the oven.  I didn't see any fire burning in the main oven part.  I look in the drawer and there were flames in the drawer.  I shut it thinking it would burn out, but it wasn't doing it fast enough.  I grabbed our fire extinguisher and I couldn't get it to work.  I had all 5 kids at home, and the fire department is right around the corner.  I called and they were here shortly.  I think the fire was out before they got here, but better safe the sorry.  They blew the smoke out of my house, which was amazing.  I didn't know they could clear out smoke like that.  The kids did great and followed our fire protocol.

We spent Friday cleaning soot off of the oven and walls.
My house no longer smells like smoke and the walls and cupboards are clean.

Michael took the boys and their friends to the movie in the park.  They had a great time!

We had a great Father's day weekend.  Michael and the big boys went to play softball on Saturday.  They did a great job.  The boys then did the boat regatta with scouts.  We gave Michael a hammock for Father's day.  He has been enjoying it.  We love all of the men in our life.  We have some great Father's in our life.

Birthday Week

Michael got me this cool gazebo for my Birthday.  It is fun to hang out and watch the kids in the shade.  My Mom got me the chairs inside it.  I helped watch my nephews this week.  My boys went to scout camp all week.  We all went swimming and enjoyed our first week of summer.

Michael and I went rock climbing.  He was pretty good at it.

We both enjoyed it.  My fingers were sore after doing it.

We did some boulder rock climbing too.  It was fun to jump down into a big mat after we hit the top.

Michael tired a few more than me.  My arms were sore by the end.  ha ha

The gazebo that I got has a screen for bugs, which is why this pic is blurry.  I took the kids to the library this week and they have been reading ever since without being prompted.  I love it!

We got Aaron his own pool to play in.  He really enjoys it.

Last Days of School

The top is the first day and the bottom is the last day.  I think my kids looks more excited about the first day.  lol

I spent a couple of hours at the school for the awards ceremony.  It was nice to have my Mom watch Aaron at home.  He wouldn't have enjoyed hanging out that long.

Leah had a great year.  She loves school.  She has learned so much.  She is great at following rules and doing what she is supposed to do.  She loves to draw and write notes for everyone.

Leah received the good citizenship award and most likely to get good grades.  She is ready for first grade.  She is testing very well!  I can't wait to see her continue to grow and learn.

Dallin was on the silver honor roll all year long.

He works very hard and always follows the rules.  He enjoys math and loved his robotics club.  He loves funny books like Big Nate .  I am excited to see him take on 4th grade.

Joshua got silver honor roll all year as well.  He also was Math Mastermind several times.  Math and Science are always his highest grades.  I am so sad he only has one year left of elementary school.  I am looking forward to to see him grow, but sad how fast it is all going.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

My Aunt came to town for Memorial Day weekend.  It was awesome having her here.  You would never know she visited by these pictures but she was and we all enjoyed it. ha ha  I need to do better with pictures.  We took her to the Arboretum.

The flowers were beautiful.  The weather was great!

The kids love the water.

We also went swimming.  Leah looks like she is ready to jump in.

Aaron doesn't like to miss out of the fun!

Michael also did a painting class for us.  It was fun.  Our trees turned out better than we thought they would.   We love having visitors.  It was a great weekend!

End of School Year Fun

Michael found a snake he was so proud.  Yuck!  The boys convinced Uncle Tony to pay them to mow his lawn.  They did a good job and Michael couldn't help himself and had to help them.  lol

The kids hung out with their cousins and played downtown at the park

They road a trolley as well.  They had a great time!

Joshua had his end of year concert.

They sounded great and the teacher said that they were the best choir she has had.  They were even singing in three parts.  At the competition they had a number 1 rating which is the best.

Soccer is over as well.  The boys had a great time!  They played hard and learned lots.  They only lost a couple of games.  I am one proud mother!

Mother's Day

Leah's class sang to us for Mother's day.

They were so cute!

This is as good of a selfie as we can get.  Each of the kids made me something cute and I loved it.  Michael made breakfast and dinner.  It was a lovely day.

I also came home to this wonderful surprise.  I have such great friends.  I have such great women in my life.  Michael and I were both blessed with wonderful mothers.
