Happy Memorial Day!

We had a great day on Monday. We went to Flag Pole Hill and had a BBQ. It was so yummy. Our friends made delicious Shish kabobs. We found a perfect spot in the shade and even the playground was shaded.
They allowed the kids to check out the fire truck before the concert. They loved it. I couldn't get them to all look at me and pose, but they enjoyed talking to the fire fighters. They were shown the hoses and the siren. Some of them even got to speak on the radio.

We made balloon animals, played with bubbles and then it was time for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra to play for us. It was wonderful, they did a great job. The kids loved it. The kids danced around and enjoyed themselves. After the concert there were fireworks. Joshua hates fireworks. Dallin I think would have been fine but since every other kid was crying he decided he wasn't sure about them either, so we left before the firework show was over. It worked out well, because then we beat everyone else out of there. All in all it was a wonderful way to celebrate Memorial Day and honor those who have gone before us, espcially those in the Military.

Things my kids do and say that make me laugh lately

Whenever we get on the Interstate Joshua is so excited. "Are we going on the race?" I answer yes. He is very intent on watching cars pointing out van, trucks, dump trucks, etc.. When we exit he proclaims "We won!" Love it! I know I have told many of you but I wanted it on record. :)

Dad, Joshua, and Dallin were playing Candyland the other day, and Michael asked Joshua to draw a card. Joshua takes his pointer finger and pretends to draw on the card. It was so funny to me.

My boys have been actually saying prayers by themselves now. I love to listen for what they are praying for. Dallin always prays for his milk. Soy milk is very important to him. He will also go through all of the names of the family and just say Amen. He will also say it when it is not his turn to pray, he will just say his own prayer drowning out whoever is supposed to be praying. Joshua lately has shortened his prayers to "Thank you for the new car, thank you for this food, Amen" He is so silly and excited about our new van. Gotta love it. They were also pretending they were in Church today. I would say that is a good sign! :) At church they will sing so loud and people look at us, but I say they are participating. They may not know the words and are just making noise, but I think it is cute.

We have been getting wet again now that it has reached the 90's. Dallin is so funny, last year he used to just dive right in, now he will stand in the water for a while and freeze. He lets Joshua soak him and then it is ok to play.

Dallin lately has discovered that it is fun to throw things in the toilet. I don't think this is funny, but he sure does. We have fished out a whole roll of toilet paper, library card, and cars. Gross!

It may be hard to see but there are flower pedals on the grass. I was asking Joshua what had happened to the flowers, just to see what he would say and then maybe we would have a little teaching moment. He simply replies, "I'll go get my nails and hammer. I can fix it." I love it.

I love my boys and they make life so much fun!

car, swim, bike, and baseball

Newest addition to our family is the van! Joshua was so thrilled it was better than Christmas for him to get a new car. He was yelling with joy when he followed Dad out to the garage to see what was in it. We feel a little poor now, but very blessed to have another car.
Dallin has taken over Joshua's bike so I am thinking it is time to upgrade Joshua we will see how he does he is a little cautious about things so hopefully it will be an easy transition. We are also thinking about putting him in swim lessons. We went swimming at Aunt Jenny's and had a great time. I think swimming lessons will be good for him.

I haven't been able to take too many pictures lately because this is how Joshua looks in all of them. He thinks he is funny.
We got to go to the Ranger game last night. We had a great time. I love going to sporting events you can enjoy company and a game at the same time.

My boys look alike?

I keep thinking Joshua is looking more and more like Michael. Dallin to me looks like Kira. They sure are all cute though ;)
I do realize these are not the most flattering pictures, but I was trying to get pictures with the same look on their faces.

Our Flowers

I love that most of these were already planted when we moved in, so my job is to try to keep them alive and keep coming back. This year we already have the irises, lilies of the valley, and daffodils come and go. I do have a hard time trying to keep the boys out of them though. We also tried planting food as well this year but so far only the zucchini and carrots are thriving. We are still working on our green thumb.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. The boys slept in until 8AM. Michael made french toast, and it was delicious. Michael got me a mop that I have been wanting. I also am getting a new van! Well, new to us anyway. We should pick it up on Wednesday. Ahhh Crazy

I just love being a Mom to my boys. They are so cute and I just love them. They have taught me so much, and have helped me become a better person. :)

We are also very grateful for our Mom's. Our Mom's have taught us so much. We are very blessed. We always have the love and support that we need. We really do have the best Mom's! We hope they have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Camp Out

We had a great time at the Ward Camp out. We arrived on a very sticky hot Friday, but after unloading we got to take a dip in the lake. The kids had a great time splashing around and playing in the sand.

We roasted hot dogs. The rain held out most the night. We would get a little shower here and there but nothing severe. The kids including Michael all played capture the flag. They all seemed to have a great time.

I was finally able to bet my boys down around 9 PM. They woke up once when the older kids were playing hide and seek and ran into the tent, but they did rather well. Joshua woke up around 2AM saying his hips itched. I looked at it and he had a little black beetle crawling on him. Once that was taken care of we were good to sleep for a few more hours until the thunderstorm hit. Our tent held up but we got a little wet, when the wind would whip the fly up a little. The boys were a little nervous, but we survived and were good to go in the morning. We had a yummy breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fruit. We are so blessed to be in such a fun Ward, with great friends.

We played at the lake until nap time and then headed home. The boys had a good time digging in the sand and playing in the water. Joshua burned his back a little, but had a great time. The boys really do love camping.
We were all very tired at the end, but only the boys got rest.
