This morning went pretty smoothly. I only forgot two things. Joshua's drink for his lunch and he forgot to brush his teeth. Tomorrow should be even better.

Closing out Summer
We headed to the zoo one last time before school starts for Joshua. We've had awesome weather this August! I can't believe I'm in Texas! It is crazy and I am enjoying every minute of it. We had a great time at the zoo. Leah is a little uncomfortable around animals, but she is getting better with each trip.
Michael and I also celebrated out 7th Anniversary. Jenny and Tony took the kids over night. They did a wonderful job with them, and my kids loved it. Michael and I took advantage of the time and weather. We went kayaking first. It started to rain on us, but it was still fun. We went out to eat and then caught a movie. We slept in the next morning. I can't remember the last time we got to sleep in. It was awesome! Big thanks to Tony and Jenny. Michael gave me these pretty flowers. We have had an awesome 7 years and I am sure it will only get better. :)

Leah Bug is 18 Months!
Leah is doing wonderfully! She was so great for the Doctor. Dr. Rosen said it was one of the best 18 month appointments he has ever had. She did everything he asked and didn't cry until the nurse actually came in with the shot. The nurse came back in after the shot to hand me Leah's shot record and Leah glared at the nurse and pointed to her thigh. Silly girl!
Leah is only 22.5 lbs and 31.5 inches tall. She is just under average for girls her age. I think she is tiny. :) She has been into accessories lately. The hat in the video below she picked out and wore all day. The bow and necklace she picked out and wore as well. She won't wear what I want her to, but only what she wants. As I said in a previous post we have been watching the Olympics. This Leah pretending to be a track star. :) I think she is pretty stinkin' cute!
I'm sorry it is sideways. I couldn't get it to flip.

My little Olympians and Avengers
August if finally here, so the count down to school begins. We are filling in our days with swimming and watching the Olmpics. :) Texas is really heating up this week with a high today of 108. Michael is taking the Scouts camping. I don not envy him at all. It is going to be hot!

Kid Update
Dallin just had his 4 year well check. He is not usually too fond of check ups. He did rather well with stickers as bribes. He is in 66 percentile and healthy as can be. He is 41 inches tall, and 37 pounds. He refused to take his shirt off for the doctor and really disliked the lady giving shots. He has discovered germs now. He feels the need to wash any toy Leah puts in her mouth. He will not share his water bottle with Joshua or Leah. If they happen to drink it, he will go in and wash the lid and fill it up with more water. I just love the different personalities of my kids.
Joshua is gearing up for Kindergarten. We have uniforms bought and now we need to start gathering supplies. I can't believe he is going to be a Kindergartner. Time flies! He has quite the imagination. He gets frustrated easily while practicing reading, but I think that is mainly due to me taking time away from his play. He is very much enjoying his freedom this summer. School may be an adjustment.
Leah is getting so big. She is saying quite a few words now. She can point to several body parts when asked. She loves to play with her brothers. She loves to walk and not be carried. She does not like riding in the shopping cart, she wants to walk.
I did mention the boys have quite the imagination. They have had it in their heads that they wanted to go on a camp out with no grown ups. They took the Cabelos catalog and circled everything that they would need for the camp out. They told me they would not bring carrots only fruits that they liked. He wanted to bring out kitchen, tv, kindle, phones, and all our food that he likes. He also informed me he would not be back for Sunday. I began to be worried they would try to sneak out and attempt this. On the day of their camp out Joshua woke up at 5:45 and started to pack the Wii and games. I know he knew he couldn't really go, but he was just getting so excited about the possibility. We compromised on the situation by setting up the tent in the back yard. I was not allowed near it, unless delivering lunch or dinner. They went to sleep around 8:30 PM and did really well until around 11 PM and came in needing a drink. Michael asked if they wanted him to sleep out there. Dallin did, Joshua was too tired to care. Michael slept with the boys out there until about 5 AM and snuck back in the house. I can't believe how independent they want to be at the ages of 4 and 5. Crazy
Joshua also has this other fantasy where he would love it if he could stay home all day, while I went to school. He said I could go to bed at 7:30 PM like he has to. I asked if he would cook dinner. He said he would and only the things that he liked. He also said he would watch TV all day, and have friends over every day. He sure is one entertaining kid.

Happy Birthday Dallin!
We took Dallin and the kids to the pool for his Birthday. They all had a great time! It wore Michael and I out. The sun can really take it out of you. The boys love jumping in the pool.
The boys love playing in the "deep" area so that is why they have the life jackets on. They are getting to be pretty good swimmers.
After swimming we took the kids out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. I was a little nervous since I have taken the whole family out to eat in a long time. The kids did great, and loved it!
Dallin requested pizza for his Birthday, so on Saturday I was working on making the crust. The boys decided to help me. They looks so cute in their aprons. :)

Happy Independance Day!
We started our week out at the spray park. Leah is a little shy, but does enjoy it. The boys could stay there all day. We haven't been there much this summer, we have been busy.
We started our 4th of July out going to Aunt Jenny's for Breakfast. There Church had a little program and then a bike parade. The kids seem to enjoy themselves.
Uncle Tony bought the kids little fireworks that snap, or pull the string and confetti shoots out. The boys loved it. Thank you Tony!
