Kid Update

Dallin just had his 4 year well check.  He is not usually too fond of check ups.  He did rather well with stickers as bribes.  He is in 66 percentile and healthy as can be.  He is 41 inches tall, and 37 pounds.  He refused to take his shirt off for the doctor and really disliked the lady giving shots.  He has discovered germs now.  He feels the need to wash any toy Leah puts in her mouth.  He will not share his water bottle with Joshua or Leah.  If they happen to drink it, he will go in and wash the lid and fill it up with more water.  I just love the different personalities of my kids.

Joshua is gearing up for Kindergarten.  We have uniforms bought and now we need to start gathering supplies.  I can't believe he is going to be a Kindergartner.  Time flies!  He has quite the imagination.  He gets frustrated easily while practicing reading, but I think that is mainly due to me taking time away from his play.  He is very much enjoying his freedom this summer.  School may be an adjustment.

Leah is getting so big.  She is saying quite a few words now.  She can point to several body parts when asked.  She loves to play with her brothers.  She loves to walk and not be carried.  She does not like riding in the shopping cart, she wants to walk.

I did mention the boys have quite the imagination.  They have had it in their heads that they wanted to go on a camp out with no grown ups.  They took the Cabelos catalog and circled everything that they would need for the camp out.  They told me they would not bring carrots only fruits that they liked.  He wanted to bring out kitchen, tv, kindle, phones, and all our food that he likes.  He also informed me he would not be back for Sunday.  I began to be worried they would try to sneak out and attempt this.  On the day of their camp out Joshua woke up at 5:45 and started to pack the Wii and games.  I know he knew he couldn't really go, but he was just getting so excited about the possibility.  We compromised on the situation by setting up the tent in the back yard.  I was not allowed near it, unless delivering lunch or dinner.  They went to sleep around 8:30 PM and did really well until around 11 PM and came in needing a drink.  Michael asked if they wanted him to sleep out there.  Dallin did, Joshua was too tired to care.  Michael slept with the boys out there until about 5 AM and snuck back in the house.  I can't believe how independent they want to be at the ages of 4 and 5.  Crazy

Joshua also has this other fantasy where he would love it if he could stay home all day, while I went to school.  He said I could go to bed at 7:30 PM like he has to.  I asked if he would cook dinner.  He said he would and only the things that he liked.  He also said he would watch TV all day, and have friends over every day.  He sure is one entertaining kid.

Happy Birthday Dallin!

We took Dallin and the kids to the pool for his Birthday.  They all had a great time!  It wore Michael and I out.  The sun can really take it out of you.  The boys love jumping in the pool.

The boys love playing in the "deep" area so that is why they have the life jackets on.  They are getting to be pretty good swimmers.

Leah gets tired of swimming before the boys, so we hung out poolside for a while.

After swimming we took the kids out to eat at Texas Roadhouse.  I was a little nervous since I have taken the whole family out to eat in a long time.  The kids did great, and loved it!

Dallin requested pizza for his Birthday, so on Saturday I was working on making the crust.  The boys decided to help me.  They looks so cute in their aprons.  :)

Dallin did well with presents.  He was very happy.

He loves ironman.  Michael decorated the cake.  We had a great time.

I don't have any stats for Dallin yet.  He goes to the Doctor next Monday, so I will fill you in later.  He is doing wonderful.  He is a great brother and son.  We are so glad he is in our family, and we get to watch him learn and grow!  We love you Dallin!  These four years have flown by!

Happy Independance Day!

We started our week out at the spray park.  Leah is a little shy, but does enjoy it.  The boys could stay there all day.  We haven't been there much this summer, we have been busy.

We started our 4th of July out going to Aunt Jenny's for Breakfast.  There Church had a little program and then a bike parade.  The kids seem to enjoy themselves.

Uncle Tony bought the kids little fireworks that snap, or pull the string and confetti shoots out.  The boys loved it.  Thank you Tony!

After Aunt Jenny's house all the boys headed out to the movies.  We then ate a delcious dinner that Michael grilled for us.  I stayed with Leah and everyone else went out to see Fireworks.  We had a wonderful day!

Last of Father's Day photos and More Swimming

We had Jenny and Tony come hang out with us for Father's Day.  We had yummy grilled hamburgers and french fries.  We followed that up with a delicious smoothie.

We got Michael a few little presents.  The kids were really excited about giving Dad his presents.

We set up our pool just in time for the triple digit heat.  The boys had a blast!

We added the canopy this year, which helps a ton!

Michael and I both went swimming too.  It is just too hot not to go swimming here.

Dadfest 2012

We went to Dadfest 5K today to kick off Father's Day weekend.  We had a great time!  I forgot my camera so I had to take these when I got home.  When some friends and Tony email me pictures I'll add a few more at the race.

Michael and Leah won third place in the father/child look alike contest.  We won a gift certificate to a restaurant.

Joshua a Dallin did awesome with the 50 yard dash!

This is the second time Michael and I have ran a race together.  Last time, the day after Jenny's wedding he beat me.  Today I beat him!  Jenny beat me in our age group for third place and a trophy, leaving me fourth place and no trophy.  ;)  Tony ran too, he made out well with all the free stuff from the booths.  It was a hot and humid day, but we a great time!

Swim Lesson Fun!

Joshua loved his teacher.  I was so proud that Joshua passed up to the next station.  He can now float on his front and back!

Dallin loved his teacher, Ms. Katie as well!  She was so good for him.  She told me he is a really good swimmer!  I am just so proud of my boys!

As a reward for passing thier classes we went to the swim at the lake with friends!

We had a great time!  Leah was having a blast in the water this time.

Thank you friends for coming with us!  We had a blast!

Swim Lessons and a Birthday

I had a Birthday on Wednesday.  It was a great one.  I received many wonderful gifts, messages, phone calls, and cards.  I feel so loved!  We even got rain.  It was a good rain too!  Thank yo uto everyone who helped make it special.

The boys started swim lessons!  They are doing great!  It is so fun to watch them learn and grow.

Joshua is saving a man from drowning.  Friday was pool safety day so the whole day they talk about how to stay safe at the pool

Joshua is working on his floating.  I haven't got a picture of it yet, but he is good floating on his belly, but is having trouble relaxing on his back.

Dallin loves his teacher Ms. Katie.  She is so good for him.  He is doing awesome.  He will be a good little swimmer.
