Helpful Joshua

Joshua has been very helpful lately. He helps me with the dishwasher. He will take all of silverware and put it into the drawer. He doesn't separate them but they all end up in the right drawer. I just have to make sure the dishes are clean when he decides to be helpful.

He also loves to separate laundry. Most people while separating laundry separate the darks and the lights. Joshua separates the clothes by Dad's and not Dad's. Dad is very much his favorite. He is constantly bringing me things and telling me that they belong to Dad.

He tries to help me with Dallin. He will wipe the baby's mouth. He can be a bit rough at times, like when the baby is sleeping and he wants to tug on his arms or legs. For the most part he is really cute with Dallin and likes to kiss him and lay next to him.

Dallin on the other hand does not like to sleep. He likes to be held. He is not hungry at night, but he just likes to be cuddled. He has not really given us a good nights rest in a long time. I try to let him cry it out, but then he wakes up Joshua and having two boys crying tests my patience in the early morning hours. I hope he grows out of it. He used to just fall right back asleep after I would feed him, but he just seems to want to be with Mom or Dad around 1 AM and on. He isn't napping well during the day either. He wants to be held. I try to let him cry it out then as well, but he doesn't ever settle down. My current plan is to let him not be overtired and strap him to me during the day if that is the only way he will sleep, which in turn I am hoping will lead to a better nights rest.

On a fun note the Young Women I am coaching won the Stake Volleyball Tournament. They are so awesome! I have had a great time getting to know them and watching them play. We go to Regionals on Saturday.

Go G1!

Finally Fall?

I feel like it is finally starting to cool down. It got down to 70 in my house. It was wonderful. I also feel like we are winning the war with the roaches. We called in a bug guy and so far so good. All the roaches we have found are either dead or dying. I want to pest control contract for Christmas.

At playgroup Joshua has been trying to keep up with the 4 year olds. He is becoming so brave. Almost too brave he tumbled down some stairs at a friends house the other day. It gave me a heart attack. He loves to hang out with others now. We have been meeting up with a friend who lives close and Joshua and Afton have been playing nicely together. It is so crazy how fast kids can progress. He is saying a lot more words and making a lot more sense lately. I can hardly get him to come inside. He just loves outside. He is also carrying around Green Dog everywhere. Green Dog goes potty and for stroller rides. He also goes outside to play and sits at the table for dinner. It is cute! Joshua is growing up so fast. He isn't my baby any more.

Dallin is doing great. He is reaching for toys and using his hands more. He will even laugh, but he has yet to laugh for me. He will only laugh for Dad. Both of my boys are Dad's boys. I burned his face yesterday at the park. I feel so bad. Joshua never had a sunburn, but that was in Idaho. I will have to be more careful. While Joshua hangs out with Afton, Dallin hangs with Rayna, they looks so cute in the stroller!

Michael played intramural volleyball last Thursday. He did pretty well. My team lost again. We were doing really well and now have lost the last two games. Oh well, it is just fun to go out and do something just for me. I am back down to pre pregnancy weight. Yeah!

I am not a Texan!

On Friday night, or I guess early Saturday morning I went into the Dallin's room to feed him. I look over as I am rocking and just relaxing and there is the biggest cockroach I have ever seen in my life crawling on his crib. I was mortified! I ran into my bedroom and woke poor Michael up to kill the nasty bug. Michael even screamed when he saw it. At that point I decided we were going to pack up and move back to Idaho! I will take blizzards and below freezing tempatures over cockroaches.

We are not really moving back to Idaho, but I don't think I will ever get used to it. The people we have talked to about it, say we don't have to worry about the big ones. They just wander in, and there is nothing you can do about it. You just have to worry about the little ones. We have sprayed and I do see dead bugs in the corners, so I know it is working. I guess the strong big ones survive to scare me at 2:00 in the morning. Dallin has not yet moved back into that room. I just can't stand the thought of a cockroach crawling in his ear or nose. (I have heard stories from others about these things happening never to babies, but I am paranoid) We have not seen any more roaches and I hope we don't. We also plug our drains at night, and now we will have to make sure all of the cracks are filled in. I hope we do not see anymore. My skin is still crawling from Fridays incident.

Spoiling our children

We took Joshua to the carnival behind our house. He had a great time. He just loves cars! We are spoiling him. :)

Dallin just had is 2 month appointment. He is in the 95th percentile for everything. He is 13lbs and 25 inches long. He is smiling and doing great.

We are just enjoying the weather as it is cooling down. We are headed to a baseball game this Saturday. We will watch the Rangers take on the Angels. Michael is planning on building bunk beds for the boys. I am coaching Volleyball for the Young Women and playing Volleyball. We have a pretty good team. It is just nice to do something without the boys and get a little exercise. I still try to make it to play group on Mondays. We also have new friends in the area that live in walking distance, so it is really nice. We have met them in the park and Joshua and their little girl have played together. It is great!

Baby Blessing

We blessed Dallin on Sunday. It was a wonderful blessing. Michael's parents were down for the blessing. It was so fun to have them here. It went so fast, it almost seems like a dream that they were here. It was so nice to have family around again. We also spent time with Michael's Uncle David and his family. It was wonderful to have finally met them. We had a wonderful meal and great conversation at there house.

Joshua was happy to see his Grandma and Grandpa again. He has been asking where they are at the past couple of days. Dallin enjoyed Grandma putting him to sleep. She has a special talent. Michael and I of course had a good time showing off our kids, friends, and house. It did make me miss Rexburg.

Joshua has been repeating a lot of what we say. For some reason it seems when someone comes to visit he seems to all of sudden progress faster. I guess he just needs another confirmation other than Michael and I. :) He loves cars. We can not get him out of the car. We went to a Birthday party on Monday he sat in their toy car the whole time. It was even hard for us to get him to eat a cupcake! They are thinking of raising the driving age to 18 here, I am not sure Joshua will be able to make it! :)

Six Weeks

We have made it to the Six week mark. Now my baby is supposed to sleep better and life is supposed to be more predictable. I guess we will see :). He is still a sweet as can be. He has found his voice a little more and he cries a little, but not to the point where I need to escape yet. :)

He is starting to smile. Joshua is much better around him. Joshua can be very sweet sometimes. He will help put the paci back in his mouth or he will just lay next to him and look at him. It is so cute.

Joshua is sleep in a transitional bed now. He is doing pretty good in it. He is just growing up so fast. He is learning new words. Today he actually told me when he had to go potty. He is obsessed with cars. He wants to drive before he is even 2.

New Home

We will give you a little preview of our house. Our living room needs a lot more color. We had to buy a new fridge. The old one was going out. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet space for us, so I was excited. In our dining room we will eventually need to upgrade our table. We still have to decorate, but that will all come with time.

We are in our new home. I am so excited. It is so nice to have a yard. The neighbors have been really nice. We just got the internet set up today, so we are getting back on track. We still need some furniture for our stuff, but we are doing well. The people at Church have been so great in helping us. They have done so much for us, I am not sure we can ever repay them for all that they have done for us. They have really helped us feel like we are at home.

The boys are doing great. Dallin is a great baby. He sleeps so well, not through the night but he will go down pretty easy. He is having some gas issues, but other than that he is great. He is also starting to smile a little bit. We will be blessing him on the first Sunday of September. Michael's parents are coming down. I am excited to see them. Joshua is doing better with the baby. He also pooped for the first time in the potty we got for him.

We have just been busy putting together the house and trying to get a new routine. Today is our anniversary. We have been married for three years now. It has been a great three years. I couldn't ask for a better husband. I feel so blessed.
