I am not a Texan!

On Friday night, or I guess early Saturday morning I went into the Dallin's room to feed him. I look over as I am rocking and just relaxing and there is the biggest cockroach I have ever seen in my life crawling on his crib. I was mortified! I ran into my bedroom and woke poor Michael up to kill the nasty bug. Michael even screamed when he saw it. At that point I decided we were going to pack up and move back to Idaho! I will take blizzards and below freezing tempatures over cockroaches.

We are not really moving back to Idaho, but I don't think I will ever get used to it. The people we have talked to about it, say we don't have to worry about the big ones. They just wander in, and there is nothing you can do about it. You just have to worry about the little ones. We have sprayed and I do see dead bugs in the corners, so I know it is working. I guess the strong big ones survive to scare me at 2:00 in the morning. Dallin has not yet moved back into that room. I just can't stand the thought of a cockroach crawling in his ear or nose. (I have heard stories from others about these things happening never to babies, but I am paranoid) We have not seen any more roaches and I hope we don't. We also plug our drains at night, and now we will have to make sure all of the cracks are filled in. I hope we do not see anymore. My skin is still crawling from Fridays incident.

Spoiling our children

We took Joshua to the carnival behind our house. He had a great time. He just loves cars! We are spoiling him. :)

Dallin just had is 2 month appointment. He is in the 95th percentile for everything. He is 13lbs and 25 inches long. He is smiling and doing great.

We are just enjoying the weather as it is cooling down. We are headed to a baseball game this Saturday. We will watch the Rangers take on the Angels. Michael is planning on building bunk beds for the boys. I am coaching Volleyball for the Young Women and playing Volleyball. We have a pretty good team. It is just nice to do something without the boys and get a little exercise. I still try to make it to play group on Mondays. We also have new friends in the area that live in walking distance, so it is really nice. We have met them in the park and Joshua and their little girl have played together. It is great!

Baby Blessing

We blessed Dallin on Sunday. It was a wonderful blessing. Michael's parents were down for the blessing. It was so fun to have them here. It went so fast, it almost seems like a dream that they were here. It was so nice to have family around again. We also spent time with Michael's Uncle David and his family. It was wonderful to have finally met them. We had a wonderful meal and great conversation at there house.

Joshua was happy to see his Grandma and Grandpa again. He has been asking where they are at the past couple of days. Dallin enjoyed Grandma putting him to sleep. She has a special talent. Michael and I of course had a good time showing off our kids, friends, and house. It did make me miss Rexburg.

Joshua has been repeating a lot of what we say. For some reason it seems when someone comes to visit he seems to all of sudden progress faster. I guess he just needs another confirmation other than Michael and I. :) He loves cars. We can not get him out of the car. We went to a Birthday party on Monday he sat in their toy car the whole time. It was even hard for us to get him to eat a cupcake! They are thinking of raising the driving age to 18 here, I am not sure Joshua will be able to make it! :)

Six Weeks

We have made it to the Six week mark. Now my baby is supposed to sleep better and life is supposed to be more predictable. I guess we will see :). He is still a sweet as can be. He has found his voice a little more and he cries a little, but not to the point where I need to escape yet. :)

He is starting to smile. Joshua is much better around him. Joshua can be very sweet sometimes. He will help put the paci back in his mouth or he will just lay next to him and look at him. It is so cute.

Joshua is sleep in a transitional bed now. He is doing pretty good in it. He is just growing up so fast. He is learning new words. Today he actually told me when he had to go potty. He is obsessed with cars. He wants to drive before he is even 2.

New Home

We will give you a little preview of our house. Our living room needs a lot more color. We had to buy a new fridge. The old one was going out. The kitchen has plenty of cabinet space for us, so I was excited. In our dining room we will eventually need to upgrade our table. We still have to decorate, but that will all come with time.

We are in our new home. I am so excited. It is so nice to have a yard. The neighbors have been really nice. We just got the internet set up today, so we are getting back on track. We still need some furniture for our stuff, but we are doing well. The people at Church have been so great in helping us. They have done so much for us, I am not sure we can ever repay them for all that they have done for us. They have really helped us feel like we are at home.

The boys are doing great. Dallin is a great baby. He sleeps so well, not through the night but he will go down pretty easy. He is having some gas issues, but other than that he is great. He is also starting to smile a little bit. We will be blessing him on the first Sunday of September. Michael's parents are coming down. I am excited to see them. Joshua is doing better with the baby. He also pooped for the first time in the potty we got for him.

We have just been busy putting together the house and trying to get a new routine. Today is our anniversary. We have been married for three years now. It has been a great three years. I couldn't ask for a better husband. I feel so blessed.

Remember Details

Well, my Mom has now gone back to Nevada. It was so fun to have her around. We had such a good time. She was so great with Joshua and Dallin. We are missing her already. Joshua keeps asking were Baba is, which is his way of saying Grandma. Michael and I got to go to the movies. We saw the Dark Knight before my Mom left. It was the first time I have been to the movies in over a year.

Today was by far the best day by myself. I didn't have to drop anyone off or pick anyone up. I didn't have any appointments it was just the boys and I. It was so nice. You know it is amazing all of the little things your forget about new borns like getting pooped and peed on. The blow outs in public and getting spit up on. The tired headache that you deal with every day until the baby starts to sleep through the night. I wonder how I did it with Joshua. I was ready for work by 7 AM. It is amazing what we can do when we have to. We went out to eat the last night my Mom was here because our apartment stunk really bad of paint fumes from next door. Dallin had a blow out and Joshua puked on the table. Ah the adventures of kids. Luckily we handled it well and had an extra out fit. Joshua was sick, I guess he like his Dad and just pukes with life changes or something. ;)

We signed the papers for our house, but we do not have the keys. We are homeowners, but I don't feel like we are really because we do not have keys. We only have one car, and Michael works the same time that they are open so we can't go and get them. What annoys me the most about the whole thing is that I know the AC is on there and I really want to bust in and turn it off. I don't want to pay for AC at both places. Oh well, Michael said he would try to get them tomorrow. It will be so nice not to have to haul two babies up and down the stairs.

Home

The baby and I are enjoying being home. I had to stay one extra night in the hospital due Dallin and his Jaundice. He is doing really well now. He is a great baby. He hardly cries. We are enjoying having him home. Joshua is doing really well. He points out the baby's features and will just stare at him. He is very good. He is so big and growing up so fast. The birth was so great. It was better than I could have imagined. I know the Lord was watching over us. Every birth is a miracle, and I especially feel that way after this one. Michael did such a good job. He didn't even pass out.

Grandma is still hanging out with us. We are having fun swimming in the pool and going on walks. It has been so great to have her here. Joshua has been having such a good time.
We are closing on a house next week. I can't wait to get i nto a place without so many stairs. I also can't wait for a garage.
