Times flying by

Time is flying.  I felt like lots has happened since I last blogged.  We had another snow day.  The kids loved playing out in the snow.

Our slide is pretty fun in the snow.

The kids celebrated their 100th day of school.

We cuddled up for about a week and are now experiencing 70 degree weather.

Evan is getting braver.  He will stand and eat.  He will stand and throw a ball.  He will stand and do anything, except take a step.  ha ha

I do dress him occasionally despite what these pictures show.  ;)

We had a great Valentines Day.  I made Michael this little basket.  He got me some chocolate bars from Aldi and running attire for me.  yeah!  The kids got loads of candy and pencils.

We have been busy and are loving the awesome weather right now!

President Obama

Did you think you were going to get a political post?  Joshua had to do a report for Black History month. He picked President Obama.  He had to do a written report as well as an oral report.  We thought he did a great job.  I found a fold your own White House on line, so that worked out great for the visual aid.

Minnie Mouse Birthday for Leah

Leah requested Minnie Mouse everything for her Birthday.  I'm not sure where her love of Minnie came from, but we had fun with it.  I attempted a Minnie Mouse cake.  My sister in laws make wonderful cakes, so don't compare mine to theirs.  ha ha  Leah liked it, and that's what's important.  :)
Leah is so spunky.  At Church a friend of ours nicknamed her the Texas Tornado.  I think it fits.  She is very independent.  She finds a way to get what she wants.  She is the perfect mix of girly and rough and tumble.  (nothing wrong with being girly or rough and tumble, I just like the balance she has)  She fits perfectly in our family.  She loves singing and dancing.  She loves to read books and go to the library.  Dress up is one of her new favorite things to do.

Aunt Jenny and Uncle Tony got her this cute Minnie out fit.  She loves it!

We made Mickey and Minnie mouse pizzas.  I didn't get a picture before we ate, so I manufactured one.  When I would ask Leah what she wanted for dinner she would tell me Minnie mouse, so this is what we came up with.

She has the best reactions to presents.  She was so excited to open everything up.  She was blessed with so many great Minnie mouse gifts.  :)

Aunt Jessica and Uncle Dustin got her this cute tea set.  My boys are awesome big brothers and will play tea party with her.

Happy Birthday Leah bug!

MLK Day fun!

We had a beautiful day on MLK day.  We went to the Arboretum and enjoyed the sunshine.

We were hoping the Children's Garden would be open, but it was closed for maintenance.

It was so fun spending a day together as family, especially since it was warm and sunny.

Family fun

It has warmed up a little so Leah, Evan and I have been playing at the park in the mornings.  Leah loves it!  She could swing and slide all day.

Joshua is my biggest food complainer.  This week he was complaining about dinner, so I asked if he wanted to make dinner.  He said he did, so he could make only things he likes.  I took him up on it, and taught him how to scramble eggs.  He really enjoyed it.  Leah and Dallin loved helping him.  I didn't get a final product picture because the kids ate it up in no time.  :)

Leah has transferred up to Dallin's old bike.  We are going to girl it up a bit for her.  She is getting the hang of pedaling and brake situation.

We are working with the boys to ride without training wheels.

While waiting for their turn they were playing with the scooter.

I wish we had better sidewalks where we live.  I think the boys would have learned earlier, but we got to the school and ride around.  If they get over their fear, they'd have it.  :)

After riding around for a while we finished up with zombie tag. The kids love zombie tag, it is all the rage at school apparently.  :)

Science Fair

Joshua entered the science fair this year.  He did Where Weather Comes From.   He did research about the rotation of the Earth to learn why the weather comes from the West. He had to track the weather here and track the weather West of us to see if the weather really does come from the West.  He worked hard and we proud of him.

New Year's Eve 13.1

I realize this post will be boring for most of you, but I like to have a little record for myself.  :)  I ran a half marathon on New Year's Eve.  I got my personal record of 2:17, so not too bad after having a baby 10 months ago.  As it was this year, I considered it a win to find time to run.  It was sad running with out Jenny and Elise.  I am thankful that Michael and the kids came with me.  It was cold, so I appreciated it even more that they stuck it out in the cold to support me.  It was a very well managed race, so Elise if you are ever back in Texas for New Years we have to do it.

I ran around 514 miles this year.  I hope to run more in 2014 because I am not planning on having any babies.  :)  I am kind of proud of myself for doing it, because between having four kids and lots to do it is so hard to find time to run.  I got up many Saturdays around 5am so I can be home around 7am because we had things to do.
